Varrojet works on the principle of a fan. Smoke produced by burning tablets is introduced into the hive. Apivarol tablets are used for incineration.
The device has a plastic handle in which the batteries are placed (2 x AA 1.5V - they are not part of the package). Other parts are made of metal and ensure a long service life of the product.
How to use:
Place the Apivarol tablet on a metal mesh.
Light the tablet with a lighter (gas lighter is best)
When the tablet starts to burn, insert the device into the hive and switch it on.
After the tablet burns, remove the ash and move on to the next hive
Such treatment is applied in late summer or autumn, after the last collection of honey. Smoke is performed at least three times, but not more than five times. The time interval between two fumes is 6 days. This treatment is suitable for all developmental stages of bees. The hive does not have to be closed and should not be closed for more than 10 minutes. The grid at the bottom is not a problem, but it would be good to have some floor / bottom during the treatment. The use of a grid at the bottom ensures better treatment efficiency, as such a bottom prevents the varoa from returning to the bees. Separately from the autumn treatment, it is possible to re-treat even after January, at the lowest daily temperature of 12-14 ° C. Delayed can be treated throughout the year, while productive bee colonies can only be treated if there is no honey in the hive.
