The metal stretcher of the bee wire in the frames has gears at the ends which, by moving along the wire, cause it to be tensioned by corrugating it. Therefore, the bee wire tensioner is sometimes called a "corrugator". The clamping force can be used to regulate the bending and thus the tension. It is important to hold the tensioner perpendicular to the frame so that the bends of the wire do not form at an angle (the bends must be parallel to the frame), otherwise they will dig into the partition wall or they may also protrude. An irreplaceable helper before sealing the partitions, the wire fastened in this way then holds the partition better and the virgin honeycombs do not tear when dialed.
